The New Seven Wonders of the World

You've probably heard of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, but what are the New Seven Wonders of the World? Well, they will be chosen on July 7, in Lisbon, Portugal and you still have a few days to vote and elect your favourite seven. Twenty monuments have made it to the final list (click here to read all about them), including Rio de Janeiro's Christ Redeemer (Cristo Redentor). Which are your favourite ones? Tell us about them in the 'comments' section!

This video on the Discovery Channel website explores the mysteries of the Mayan civilization in Chichen Itzá, Mexico. Have a look!

Hi! Picking only seven seems like an impossible task, so I decided to focus on constructions rather than monuments and statues... Here is my list, in no particular order of preference:
- Chichen Itzá
- Machu Picchu
- the Great Wall
- Petra
- the Taj Mahal
- La Alhambra
- Angkor
- the Acropolis - well, that's number 8, but if the 3 Musketeers were in fact 4, perhaps the Seven Wonders could be 8??? :-)
