Getting ready for the hurricane season

The hurricane season starts officially on June 1st and goes until November 30th. The images of New Orleans flooded after Katrina hit the city in 2005 are still vivid in everybody's minds, and experts speculate that the hurricane activity this year may be just as intense as it was two years ago. I would like to know how they give names to hurricanes, whenever it is male or female. It is funny!

Cheers, Ronaldo.
