Shelfari: a community for book lovers

Dear friend Nina Liakos, from the U.S., has sent me an invitation to join this very cool community. Shelfari is for all bookworms who love reading and talking about books. You can see what your friends are reading, what others with similar tastes have enjoyed, and even get and give book recommendations. Joining is free and you can create your own "virtual shelf" and share it with other members. Visit Shelfari and be part of the group!

Visiting museums

Between today and 20th May, a series of lectures, workshops and courses around the country will celebrate art and culture during the "5a Semana Nacional de Museus" (5th National Week of Museums). The events are free and involve a record number of 2,460 museums of different kinds. It's a great opportunity to visit (or re-visit) some of our best museums (like the History Museum, the Museum of Arts and Crafts - see the photo - and the Museu do Oratório, in Ouro Preto). I compiled a list of interesting museums around the world whose websites contain an English version; you can check the links here.

How about recommending a museum to our readers? Leave your suggestion in 'comments' and tell us why it is special to you!
